There were many, many days I wouldn’t have bothered with a workout if I hadn’t made this (work-related) promise to myself, and now that it’s completed, I wish someone would make me do it all over again. It might well be true that exercise has the same effect on happiness levels as an anti-depressant. Though I basically dreaded my workouts every single day, once I conquered a class, I felt better than I had in months, maybe even years-not just physically but mentally too. When it came to physical comfort though, it wasn’t nearly as painful as I thought it would be. As someone who tends to stay inside her comfort zone when it comes to fitness-I generally find a class and stick with it like glue for years-it was incredibly daunting to try a new, unfamiliar workout every single day. It’s also one of the best things I’ve ever done. If this sounds insane, it’s because it is. When done properly, any calisthenics exercise is fun and effective.After more than two years of inconsistent workouts (thanks a lot, Netflix), I randomly decided to challenge myself to attempt 30 different workouts in 30 days. Improperly performing any calisthenic exercise may cause unnecessary strain to your joints. Please keep in mind that calisthenics should be completed with proper form, technique, and breathing. Moreover, you can always do calisthenics at home! For example, famous programs like P90X and INSANITY are so popular because they use natural calisthenics exercises and the results are absolutely amazing and completely attainable with motivation and willpower. So, the more vigorous your routine the more results you will achieve. Various activities such as gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, pilates, running, and walking are all forms of calisthenics. or, rather, what YOUR body is capable of. You might not be able to do crazy calisthenics like these, but you’ll be amazed at what the human body is capable of. With calisthenics you also gradually learn to have complete control over your own body.
